Framework Overview

The Aurora Reversion Framework is an alternative quantitative participation system specifically engineered for mean-reversion opportunities. Unlike trend-following methodologies, it excels in identifying exhaustion points where price has stretched beyond normal boundaries and is statistically likely to revert.

By combining volatility extremes (Bollinger Bands), momentum exhaustion (RSI + Stochastic), structural rejection (wick analysis), and regime confirmation (ADX), the framework filters for only the highest-quality participation opportunities while avoiding strong trending environments.

Core Logic & Signal Conditions

Five essential confluence filters must align for a valid participation opportunity

1. Volatility Extreme
Price closes below Lower Bollinger Band (20, 2.0)
Signals stretched condition
2. Momentum Exhaustion
RSI (14) drops below 35 (oversold for upside opportunities)
Indicates seller fatigue
3. Oscillator Confirmation
Stochastic (14,3,3) shows bullish cross while both lines remain < 30
Momentum shift confirmed
4. Structure Rejection
Signal candle exhibits long lower wick > 1.5 × body
Price rejection at lows
5. Regime Filter
ADX (14) remains below 25 — confirming low trend strength
Favors mean-reversion
Note: All five conditions must be simultaneously satisfied on the closed H1 candle for a valid signal. The framework is intentionally strict to maintain high quality over quantity of participation opportunities.

Recommended Parameters

Indicator / Setting Value Purpose
Bollinger Bands Period 20, Deviation 2.0 Volatility envelope for extreme detection
RSI Period 14, Oversold 35 / Overbought 65 Momentum exhaustion measurement
Stochastic Oscillator 14, 3, 3 with Level 30 Fast momentum shift confirmation
ADX Period 14, Threshold 25 Regime identification (low trend = reversion friendly)
ATR Period 14, SL Multiplier 1.0 Dynamic stop loss and trailing distance
Wick Ratio Filter 1.5 × Body Structural rejection confirmation
Time Window 08:00 – 20:00 (server time) Liquidity & volatility optimization

Execution Sequence

A disciplined, repeatable process from signal to harvest

01
Scan & Identify

Monitor H1 chart for Bollinger Band extreme touches combined with supporting indicators.

02
Confluence Confirmation

Verify all five conditions align on the most recent closed candle. No exceptions.

03
Position Sizing

Calculate lot size to risk exactly 1% of account equity based on stop distance.

04
Execute Participation

Enter with dynamic stop loss (1× ATR beyond wick) and initial take-profit target at 1.5R.

05
Active Monitoring

Scale out 50% of position when price reaches the middle Bollinger Band or first harvest target.

06
Position Management

Trail remaining position using ATR or move to breakeven after 1R profit is secured.

Important Risk Considerations

Capital Protection First: The 1% risk rule is non-negotiable. Never increase position size after a series of successful participations.
Backtesting & Forward Testing: Thoroughly backtest on multiple instruments and market regimes. Forward test on a demo account for a minimum of 3 months before live deployment.
No Guarantee: Past performance of any quantitative framework does not guarantee future results. Markets evolve and all participation involves substantial risk of loss.
